"From analyzing Stine’s books, the students looked at Stine’s writing style and noted that the plots are predictable and the characters never developed. All in all they carried out a pretty thorough critical analysis and concluded that there was nothing to get excited about. As well, I found it interesting that they took a long look at some of the other challenged books, especially ones written for a teenage audience, and decided for themselves that the books weren’t appropriate for their age level. I didn’t have to intervene at all".
